London—EU carbon allowances prices rallied back above Eur20.00/ mt ($21.26/mt) Monday, continuing the previous week’s gains amid cautious hopes over a return to normal conditions in the coming weeks and months, following the coronavirus outbreak. EU Allowance futures contracts for December 2020 delivery on the ICE Futures Europe exchange jumped as high as Eur20.50/mt Monday, topping the Eur20.00/mt mark for the first time since March 17.
