Vietnam's Hoa Phat to fire up No. 4 blast furnace at Dung Quat early 2021

Singapore—Vietnamese steelmaker Hoa Phat expects to fire up the last of four blast furnaces at its Dung Quat complex at Quan Ngai province in early 2021, the company said Aug. 31, after it successfully started the No. 3 BF on Aug. 24. The company’s Dung Quat plant fired up the first two of its four greenfield Danieli Corus 1,080 cu m blast furnaces in June and November 2019, respectively. The third furnace was expected to start up in April 2020 but was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic and market uncertainty.
