Russian pig iron exports fall in January-April

London—Russian pig iron exports in January-April were reduced by nearly 40% on year, to 885,059 mt. However, the rate of decrease slowed in April, according to data from the Eurasian Economic Commission on June 29. Exports to the US, the largest outlet for Russian pig iron, totaled 318,918 mt, down 53.1% on January-April 2019. The export volumes to the US represented 36% of the total, down from the usual share closer to 50%.
