摘要

London—Hopes are rising of an early resumption of iron ore mining activities at Sierra Leone-based SL Mining, a subsidiary of Londonbased metals trader Gerald International, after employees arrested by the government were released. SL Mining said in a statement August 3 that it welcomed the actions taken by President Julius Maada Bio, who recently closed the cases against the employees without any charges being brought. SL confirmed employees arrested in May and June, jailed and then bailed have all now been released. The bail conditions have been removed, and SL Mining’s employees were permitted to return to the Marampa mine site, the company said.
