Singapore—The monthly scrap export tender by Japan’s Kanto Tetsugen saw the two winning bids for October at levels lower than the winning bids in September, although the rate of decline was slower than what regional buyers were expecting. The higher winning bid for October was at Yen 28,429/mt ($269/ mt) for 10,000 mt of H2 scrap, Yen 941/mt lower compared with the September bid. The second winning bid for 10,500 mt of H2 scrap was at Yen 28,384/mt. The average of both these bids stood at Yen 28,406/ mt for a total of 20,500 mt of H2 scrap, marking a month-on-month decline of Yen 964/mt. Both lots were reportedly sold to Vietnam.
