ArcelorMittal Poland to keep Krakow met coke plant operating

London—Steel group ArcelorMittal said Nov. 5 the metallurgical coke plant in Krakow, Poland, will keep operating along with other downstream steel rolling facilities as the blast furnace and steel plant permanently close due to weaker demand related to coronavirus. In an investor presentation, ArcelorMittal said the coke plant, two rolling mills, hot-dipped galvanizing and new organic coating line at Krakow will continue to operate, with slabs supplied from its Dabrowa Gornicza mill, also in Poland.
