Turkish import scrap prices fall, bookings lower

London—Deep-sea import prices for Turkish ferrous scrap fell sharply, as two mills in the Iskenderun region were heard to book scrap at lower levels. S&P Global Platts assessed Turkish imports of premium heavy melting scrap 1/2 (80:20) at $239/mt CFR Thursday, down $8.50/ mt on day. A Benelux-origin cargo to an Iskenderun mill, booked on Wednesday for first-half June shipment, was heard by multiple sources, including 18,000 mt HMS 1/2 (80:20) at $236/mt CFR, as well as some bonus scrap, and confirmed by the seller.
