Pacific Capesize market ends week on soft note, Atlantic muted

Singapore—The Capesize market ended the week on a softer note in Pacific basin on the back of lower freight rates, while the Atlantic region was muted during Asian trading hours amid positive outlook. On the paper side, the forward freight agreement market lost steam and edged down with thin liquidity. Market participants preferred to stay on the sidelines for a better direction on the bunker price amid a “roller-coaster” night on crude oil market. “Today most players are waiting to see how bunkers play out,” a shipbroker said, adding that market was slightly on the softer side with limited offers before weekend.
