Pittsburgh—The March scrap buy in the US began Wednesday with one Detroit area mill entering the market offering sideways pricing on shredded grades and plate & structural scrap, and up $10/lt on prime scrap from February prices. Two other Detroit mills followed shortly after, also offering sideways on shred grades and up $10/lt on primes. Several suppliers remained unconvinced March pricing should be sideways on shred, while others believed flat pricing was where buying would ultimately settle.
