London—Deepsea Turkish import scrap prices were stable on Aug. 28, as recycler offers remained firmly above $290/mt CFR, with mills heard to hold back, sources said.S&P Global Platts assessed Turkish imports of premium heavy melting scrap 1/2 (80:20) at $288.50/mt CFR on Aug. 28, unchanged on day, but up $6/mt on week. “There are almost 40 deepsea cargoes to be sold, there are many possibilities – I don’t think the $288/mt CFR level could be possible, and even $290/mt CFR is optimistic,” a Turkish mill source said.
