Asia met coal prices lower; buyers step away

Singapore—Asia metallurgical coal market fell Wednesday as demand showed little signs of improvement despite lower offers seen in the market. S&P Global Platts assessed Premium Low Vol down $2.50/mt at $145.00/mt FOB Australia, while PLV CFR China fell $2.75/mt to $153.75/ mt Wednesday. FOB market continued to see thin demand as buyers retreat with liquidity drained on the back of production cuts and lockdowns.
