London—CIS merchant pig iron exporters maintained their price levels during the week after earlier sales to the US helped fill the order books for June production, sources said. A trader said it is possible that CIS sellers will take two or three weeks to hold their prices firm for other markets before US buyers start showing interest again. He believed that suppliers would be reluctant to give discounts to China or other markets in case the US customers return with higher bids.
