London—Deepsea Turkish import scrap prices continued to strengthen, with stronger Turkish finished steel demand prompting further US-origin scrap bookings. S&P Global Platts assessed Turkish imports of premium heavy melting scrap 1/2 (80:20) at $258/mt CFR on July 14, up $1.50/ mt on day. “It could be $260/mt CFR maximum, we will see – now the scrap looks cheap,” a Turkish mill source said, while a second Turkish mill source also said this level may be possible.
