Limited trading interest kept Turkish ferrous scrap import prices rangebound as buying interest remained subdued. S&P Global Platts assessed Turkish imports of premium heavy melting scrap 1/2 (80:20) at $297/mt CFR Wednesday, down 75 cents/mt from Tuesday. The vast majority of Turkish buyers stayed on the sidelines and “preferred to wait” as they held price expectations at $290/mt CFR, with most recyclers from the Baltics and North America willing to sell at $300/mt CFR.
