Vale iron ore output to recover to 2018 levels by 2021-2022

New York—Brazilian iron ore and base metals producer Vale has said its iron ore production will recover to 2018 levels by 2022 and possibly by 2021 after a sharp drop in output after the fatal Brumadinho dam collapse disaster in January. Speaking at an investors’ presentation at the New York Stock Exchange Monday, Vale executives said its iron ore production was estimated to have fallen to 307 million-312 million mt in 2019 from 385 million mt in 2018.
