Anglo gains license for minas-rio tailings facility

London—Miner Anglo American has received an operating license for a new phase of its Minas-Rio iron ore tailings facility in Brazil, following work to raise the dam as part of the Step 3 license area of the mine, the miner said Monday. The regulatory authorities in Brazil granted the installation license for this work in January 2018 and the construction work was completed in accordance with that license in August 2019, it said in a statement.
