The Asia-Pacific and Atlantic Capesize freight rates ended the week on a strong note, with rates surging across all routes Friday. “It’s all fueled by sentiment” said a source with a ship-operating firm. The source was surprised by the large jump in rates and said “I can understand if it was the fixtures that were positional [for very prompt or spot cargoes], but that doesn’t seem to be the case.”
