Singapore—Taiwan’s domestic heavy melting scrap prices held steady this week, on the back of high mill inventories, allowing import prices to fall closer to weaker domestic levels, Taiwanese market sources said. Major mini-mill Feng Hsin Iron and Steel held its domestic scrap buying price this week at T$8,600/mt ($274/mt) for HMS I/II 80:20 delivered to its Taichung mill, unchanged from a week ago, a company source said.
