Queensland aug coal exports slide from June record

Coal exports from Queensland, Australia, continued to slide in August from a record-high in June, with indications of a slump in volumes to China and South Korea, data from the state’s ports showed.The state's terminals -- excluding only Queensland Bulk Handling at the Port of Brisbane -- exported a combined 18.06 million mt in August, which is fairly well level year on year with 18 million mt, down 8% from July and the lowest monthly total since April. The exports were down from a record 20.98 million mt in June, according to data from the Gladstone Ports Corp, or GPC, and North Queensland Bulk Ports Corp, or NQBP.
