September US scrap prices continue to slide in late trading

Steel scrap prices that started trading at down $30/lt late last week in the US market were settling at down $35-$40/lt in late trading in the Midwest and Ohio Valley, while the Southeast remained down $40/lt. The S&P Global Platts Midwest 10-day monthly shredded scrap average price fell to $245/lt on Tuesday, down $33/lt from $278/ lt in August.
