Brazil’s Vale signs energy supply contract with Casa dos Ventos

Brazilian miner Vale signed a long-term energy supply contract with Casa dos Ventos, to be supplied from the Folha Larga Sul wind farm in Campo Formoso, Bahia, Brazil, the company said. The project will have an installed capacity of 151.2 MW with Casa dos Ventos having the investment responsibility, Vale said late Tuesday. It has its energy contracted for 23 years and is expected to begin commercial operation by the first half of 2020.
