Iron ore prices surge on buying interest

Singapore—The Asian seaborne iron ore market continued to surge Tuesday on strong demand for spot cargoes. S&P Global Platts assessed the 62% Fe Iron Ore Index at $122.60/dry mt CFR North China Tuesday, up $4.85/dmt on day. The front-month August TSI swap was up $4.25/ dmt on day to $116.70/dmt. Market sources saw a strong recovery on renewed buying interest this week with spot supply continuing to be limited.
