iron ore pricing falls on weaker steel, thin trading

Singapore—The seaborne iron ore market continued to drop Monday on concerns over steel and amid thin trading. S&P Global Platts assessed the 62% Fe Iron Ore Index at $97.95/dry mt CFR North China Monday, down $1.85/dmt from Friday. The front-month June TSI swap was down $2.10/dmt over the same period at $96.60/dmt. "The steel market outlook is still bearish, and sales can slow down further as summer is coming," said a Beijing-based trader.
