London—With more upside in the iron ore and scrap pricing, CIS merchant pig iron exporters are trying to push for new price hikes in remaining January and February production availability. Buyers are showing resistance to new offers, however. Target levels from Russian mills reached $320-$325/mt FOB Black Sea/Sea of Azov. Into the US the asking prices from Russia reached $350/mt CIF Nola, according to a trader and a Russian producer. Offers from Ukraine to the US ere between $340-$345/ mt CIF, a mill source said.
