Singapore—Seaborne metallurgical coal prices held steady for the Chinese market with trades reported in the hard coking coal segment. However, the FOB market continued to be plagued by weakness as offers drifted lower amid a lack of firm interest. S&P Global Platts assessed Premium Low Vol coal down $1.50/mt at $205.50/mt FOB Australia, and the CFR China assessment was flat at $211.75/mt Thursday. In China, market participants adopted a wait-and-see mode after the sell tender of Premium Low Vol was concluded Wednesday.
