Pittsburgh—Four Michigan-area mills entered the July scrap market Tuesday morning offering scrap suppliers prices $10/ lt below June levels. The offers were met with varying levels of resistance from US scrap suppliers, setting down $10/lt as the floor for July prices. “Down $10/lt appears to be the worst case scenario,” one supplier said. “The Southeast is settling sideways.” Regionally, demand was strongest in the southeastern US and by grade, primes were most in demand this month.
