Coronado Coal Oct-Dec output slides as rail issues hit Curragh

Coronado Coal saw a 5% dip in its ROM production in the October-December quarter as rail issues in Queensland, Australia, impacted operations at its recently-acquired flagship Curragh metallurgical coal mine, the company said Wednesday. “Volumes in Australia were impacted by the well publicized rail network disruptions in Queensland during the quarter (bush fires, track maintenance and union action), however this was partly offset by higher shipments from Buchanan and the addition of coal blending into Curragh shipments,” the company’s CEO Gerry Spindler said.
