Lack of environmental permits to feed into nickel deficit: Nornickel

London—Global nickel supply has been growing in excess of demand but that trend may reverse after 2020, Nornickel, the world’s second-largest producer, said Monday. The Russian company highlighted a number of looming constraints, including limited ore exports, a lack of environmental permits and lower by-product revenue. Thus, next year may be a transitional one for the industry, it said.
