Atlantic Basin iron ore blast furnace pellet premiums for February cargoes assessed Friday were stable, with unease on contract volumes available as negotiations continue. This was a result of Brazilian supplier Vale’s decision to expedite the decommissioning of iron ore tailing dams after a fatal accident on January 25, with a loss of some output and two pellet plants in the interior of Brazil being idled.
