Asian ferrosilicon spreads widen in rudderless market

S&P Global Platts assessed Chinese ferrosilicon spot export price in a broader spread of $1,160-$1,250/mt FOB China Thursday, compared with $1,190-$1,200/mt FOB on January 4, and the Japanese import price at $1,170-$1,260/mt CIF Japan, widening from $1,250-$1,270/mt CIF Japan previously The wide range reflected a directionless market, with deals reportedly at $1,250/mt FOB China or $1,260-$1,270/mt CIF Japan, for February loading from Tianjin, as well as an offer at $1,170/mt CIF Japan for January- February loading.
