Chile’s steel production index inNovember rose 8.9% year on year and fell11% from October, the National Institute ofStatistics (INE) said Wednesday.The INE measures steel productionthrough an index that includes operatingblast furnaces, converters and rolling mills,as well as production of pig iron, ingots,ferroalloys and finished steel products suchas angles, sections and bars.The institute does not publiclyquantify actual production volumes, onlypercentage changes.
