Iran increases DRI output using domestic technology

New Iranian steelmaking project Baft Steel has started production at its direct-reduced iron module, S&P Global Platts learned from Imidro, the country’s state mines and metals holding company. Baft’s is the sixth new DRI project completed by Imidro using a domestic technology called PERED, Imidro chief Khodadad Gharibpour noted on the holding company’s website.
