Turkish scrap, rebar survey: stronger margin squeeze seen

The latest monthly Platts Turkish Scrap and Rebar Market Survey has shown that market participants are largely more bullish on the direction of Turkish import scrap prices over December, but bearish on Turkish export rebar prices. Market participants saw the Turkish scrap market well supported, with 42% of participants anticipating a further climb in scrap prices, while 25% predicted that prices will remain range-bound. This was a more decisive bullish stance than survey results for November, where merely 38% of survey participants expected stronger prices.
