Evraz to sell US-based asset amid vanadium price decline

London—Russian mining and steel company Evraz has entered into an agreement to sell its wholly owned vanadium producer EVRAZ Stratcor to a third party in September, citing the asset’s high operating costs as well as depressed vanadium prices. EVRAZ Stratcor is located in the US, where Evraz has a 10%-15% vanadium market share. It was acquired in 2006 and has been a part of the company’s steel division.
