Kiev—Ukraine’s exports of ferronickel (FeNi) soared 87% year on year to 20,940 mt in the first quarter of 2019 from 11,200 mt in the same period of 2018, the state statistics service reported Wednesday. The revenues received from the exports increased to $42.8 million from $22 million in the year-ago period, it added. Ferronickel, which contains about 20% nickel, is used as an alloy addition in steel smelting.
