Peru’s mining investment to rise 14% in 2019: Scotiabank

Peru’s investment in the mining sector is expected to increase around 14% in 2019 compared to 2018, according to a study published by investment bank Scotiabank. The estimated investment is around $5.5 billion for 2019. The investment bank projects 2018 to close at around $4.8 billion. Ministry of Energy and Mines hasn’t yet published December’s investment figure; while from January to November, investments in the mining sector reached $4.18 billion, up 25.4% from the same period in 2017, MEM data showed.
