EU CO2 prices stabilize after dipping below Eur25/mt

London—EU carbon dioxide allowance prices stabilized Tuesday after briefly dipping to a two-month low below Eur25/mt last week. EU Allowance futures contracts for December 2019 delivery on the ICE Futures Europe exchange moved in a range of Eur25.24/mt ($27.84/mt) to Eur25.89/mt Tuesday, compared with an intra-day low of Eur24.81/mt August 23. An auction of 1.3875 million spot EUAs by EU governments Tuesday morning cleared at Eur25.25/mt, helping to underpin secondary market prices on the day.
