China Moly 2018 output down for moly; up for cobalt

Major Chinese metals miner China Molybdenum Company issued production estimates Wednesday for its major products in 2018, with molybdenum and copper likely to fall 8%-21% from the previous year and a strong growth in cobalt. In a positive profit alert statement filed to the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, the top molybdenum producer in China said its financial department has preliminarily estimated 15,380 mt of molybdenum production last year, 8% less than the 16,717 mt achieved in 2017.
