Russian steel pipe demand, production up year on year

Russian steel pipe production will total 11.4 million mt this year, a 9% increase on 2016, while consumption will be up by 3% year on year to 10 million mt, according to preliminary estimates from the Russian Pipe Industry Development Fund (FRTP). Exports were the main factor behind steel pipe production growth in 2017. Sales outside Russia grew by 60% year on year to 1.9 million mt, with the most exported product being large-diameter pipe (LDP).
