Black Sea pig iron prices dive after weeks on hiatus

After a few weeks of deadlock, pig iron prices in the Black Sea market have started to show more movement in the downward direction, according to sources surveyed by S&P Global Platts on Friday. For nearly two months pig iron pricing was markedly stable at around $360/mt FOB Black Sea. This level was first consolidated in a flurry of bookings in the US and Italy followed by a quiet market and no movement.
