The Bureau of International Recycling has formed a Global Recycling Foundation to promote recycling's "vital" role in preserving the future of the planet, BIR Pesident Ranjit Baxi announced at the bureau's conference in London October 6. The aim is to promote recycling of materials including plastics, metals and textiles across the globe and establish the concept of recyclables as the "Seventh Resource," after the six major resources of: water, air, coal, oil, natural gas and minerals, said Baxi, the foundation's founding president.
