Colombia harmed by Venezuelan steel exports: market sources

Colombia's steel sector is been harmed by much-lower-priced imports from Venezuela, market sources said Thursday. According to traders, Venezuela is exporting around 30,000 mt/year of steel -- mostly flat products -- to Colombia. "It began in 2014, but it disappeared in 2015, and now it resumed during 2017 as the country's domestic consumption for these products has been low, so they're exporting," one market player said.
