China's daily crude output up 3.2% in mid-March

Crude steel output at works operated by China Iron & Steel Association member companies over March 11-20 averaged 1.787 million mt/day, rebounding by 3.2% after a 7.8% drop in early March compared with the final ten days of February. The daily average over the second ten days of March was 1.4% higher than the same period last year. Finished steel stocks at mills reporting to CISA as of March 20 were up by 0.7% from March 10 at 14.79 million mt, which was also 4.1% higher on year. CISA estimated that China's total daily crude steel output in mid-March averaged 2.31 million mt/day, up 6.1% from early March and up by 3.2% on year.
