Sinking Turkish rebar market pressures export prices

Surging rebar export offers from Turkish mills have seen little traction with buyers this week. And target prices of $590/mt FOB might not stick much longer, as the domestic Turkish market has slowed -- making exporting a necessity for Turkish suppliers, local sources told S&P Global Platts. Most buyers remained in a wait-and-see mode when it came to firm offers at $590/mt FOB, actual weight. "I expect [the] local market to slow down, so below $580/mt FOB can be possible next week," one trader said.
