Egyptian ezzsteel's Jan-Sep flat steel production down 19% on year

Egypt-based ezzsteel produced 2.5 million mt of long steel products during January-September, up 1%on the year, and 888,000 mt of flat steel products, down 19%, the company said in a results statementThursday.The company said domestic sales rose, but export markets presented challenges and resulted in loweryear-on-year sales volume for long and flat steel products. Domestic sales volume was up 6% whileexports fell 16%. The company recorded consolidated sales of 3.47 million mt in January-September,2% higher year on year.
