ArcelorMittal restarts blast furnace at its Gijon mill in Spain

ArcelorMittal said it started up the 2.7 million mt/year blast furnace A at its Gijon, Spain mill in order to cover production volume from its Gent, Belgium furnace which will be renovated, the company said Oct. 26. As a result, output from the Spanish site will be increased for a temporary period, the company said, without providing a figure. The company did not say how long the work would take or how long the Spanish furnace might be required.
