Furloughed British Steel workers returning to work

British Steel said 300 workers would be returning to its Skinningrove plant Monday after a three-week furlough period. Production was suspended at the site due to lockdown measures aimed at stemming the spread of the coronavirus, with the company saying it had paused production to adjust to “difficult market conditions”. CEO Ron Deelan said Friday the company had “increased confidence” it would be able to “navigate through the situation” to produce requisite volumes of special profile materials.
