Sales to Turkey, Egypt and Asia support Black Sea HRC price gains

Black Sea hot-rolled coil prices showed significant gains on tighter supply from CIS mills and upward momentum in key export markets including Turkey, Egypt and Southeast Asia, sources said. Two traders cited a large sale of Russian HRC, December production, 150,000 mt in total, closed at $515-$518/mt CFR Vietnam, which equated to $478/mt FOB Black Sea. This took a significant volume out of the market and allowed CIS suppliers to seek hikes for the remaining volumes. The Southeast Asian HRC market has been consistently strengthening in the last few weeks.
