US mill lead times for flat-rolled steel products move lower

US steel mills' lead times for flat-rolled products fell across all four major product categories, according to S&P Global Platts data on Wednesday. Average lead times for all four products have been steadily retracting since at least mid-March, with hotrolled coil lead times continuously shrinking since the end of February. Average mill lead times for hot-rolled coil fell by 0.1 week to 3.9 weeks. The daily Platts TSI US HRC index was assessed at $463.75/st Wednesday, down $13/st from the previous week and down almost $70/st since the beginning of the month.
