Asian rebar prices inched up on Friday on hopes that day to day activities in China domestic and Hong Kong may resume soon as coronavirus fears somewhat eased. S&P Global Platts assessed 16-20 mm diameter BS500 rebar at $430/mt FOB China actual weight, up $3/mt from Thursday. In the Beijing retail market, spot 18-25 mm diameter HRB400 rebar was assessed at Yuan 3,490/mt ($497/mt) ex-stock actual weight, including 13% value added tax, up Yuan 40/mt from the last trading day. Rebar cargos were hard to deliver to end-user, a Shanghai-based trader said, adding that just a few drivers back to work.
